Adoption is not enough: Sustainability as the next challenge for XR in rehabilitation

Despite growing evidence for XR in rehabilitation, sustained integration into clinical practice remains the exception rather than the rule. This keynote examines why adoption alone is an insufficient measure of success, drawing on implementation science frameworks and real-world experience to identify what it takes to move from enthusiastic uptake to embedded use. The presentation will map the terrain ahead to make the case that sustainability must become the field’s next shared priority.
